Jim Maguire elected to Sunshine Water Control District's Board of Supervisors | 04-07-2014

CORAL SPRINGS, FL - April 10, 2014 - Mr. Jim Maguire, a past president of The Country Club of Coral Springs (The Club) and a long-time resident of the City, was elected to the Board of Supervisors of the Sunshine Water Control District (“District”) at a Landowners’ Meeting held on March 31, 2014. Mr. Maguire was formally sworn in and will serve a three-year term.

After the election Jim commented, “I would like to thank the residential and business landowners for supporting me in my quest to make a positive difference in our community. You will not be disappointed, as I will be working hard to make a positive impact for the landowners, the City and the District.”

Mr. Maguire (District Secretary), fills the seat of outgoing Supervisor, Emily Heafy, and joins Supervisors Joe Morera (District President) and Daniel Prudhomme (District Vice President) on Sunshine’s Board, which meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., at Sartory Hall, located in Mullins Park, 10150 NW 29 St., Coral Springs 33065.

The Sunshine Water Control District is a special-purpose local government serving an area of north-central Broward County. The District was established on July 10, 1963 by Ch. 63-609, Laws of Florida under the authority of Chapter 298, Florida Statutes, to provide surface water management improvements and services to support the development of this portion of Broward County, which was eventually incorporated and became Central Coral Springs. The District maintains 22 miles of interconnected waterways providing flood control for over 16,800 residences, business, schools and government facilities.
